Fall Break starts on Monday, November 19th.  Students will not have school this week.  Students will return to school on Monday, November 26th


A special congratulations to our 47 bands students who made it into the all county honors band.  Their names are posted on our website and Facebook page.

On Monday November 12th, we are celebrating Veterans Day.  School will not be in session on Monday. 

A special thank you to all of our service members for their patriotism, love for our country, and willingness to serve.

On Tuesday we have a chorus concert at Marcus Point Baptist church starting at 6:30 PM.

On Wednesday, our all-county band will be rehearsing at Bailey Middle starting at 8:30 AM.

Our all-county band will be performing at the Saenger Theater on Thursday at 7:00 PM.

Congratulations to all of our students who made it into the all county chorus and all county orchestra.  All of their names are posted on our website and Facebook page.  This year we had twelve students make it into the all county chorus and twelve students make the all county orchestra.
Last week a Safe Routes To Schools survey was sent home with your child.  The survey will be used to determine if more sidewalks need to be added to Kingsfield Rd.  The surveys are due back on Monday, November 5th
On Monday, there is a home basketball game against Workman Middle.
Thursday is a very busy day;
On Thursday morning, the drama club is meeting in the café at 8:30 AM.
On Thursday night, there is a basketball game at home against Ferry Pass Middle and our all county band will be rehearsing at 6:00 PM at RMS.

Congratulations to our band.  We had a record number of 47 students make it into the all county band.
Congratulations to Livvy Morehouse and Maggie Shaffer for making it to all state.
Also on Thursday night, the school district is sponsoring a School Choice Expo at Washington High School from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. The high schools will be show casing their academies.   This is an excellent opportunity for our students to see what academy options they have for high school.
On Friday morning, our History Club will be meeting at 8:00 AM.

The school district is in the process of completing their Safe Routes To Schools application.  Our school is on the list for submission.  The project involves adding sidewalks along Kingsfield Road.  The project application requires parents to complete a survey.  On Tuesday, October 30th a parent survey about walking and biking will be sent home with your child.  Please help us out by completing the survey and having your child return the survey to their advisory teacher by Monday, November 5th. 
The security measures for our school continue to be updated.  Starting on Monday, October 29th visitors will need to enter through the main office entrance on the east side of campus (located between the Administrative Building and the Cafeteria).
On Monday, there is an away basketball game at Bailey Middle.
On Tuesday October 30th, the band is having there cookie dough pick-up from 2:00 to 7:00 PM.
On Tuesday, the art club will be meeting at 8:00 AM.
On Thursday, there is a basketball game at home against Brown Barge Middle. 
Our PTA is sponsoring a dance on Friday, November 2nd from 4:00 to 5:30 PM. The cost is $8.00, which includes a piece of pizza, drink and pictures.  Tickets will be sold at lunch Tuesday through Friday.  Parents, if your child is attending the dance please be in line to pick them up by 5:30 PM.  Please write your child’s name on a sheet of paper to speed up the pick-up process.
On Friday after the dance, the chorus is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner in the cafeteria from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.  The cost is $7.00.
On Friday, the History club will be meeting at 8:00 AM.
We are collecting non-perishable food items through Oct. 31 for the Manna Food Bank. Students will donate through their Advisory Classes. Advisories at each grade level who donate the largest quantity of items will receive donuts in early November.

Report cards will be going home Monday, October 22nd.

 

This week is Red Ribbon Week.  Please check out our school’s website and Facebook page to see what students are allowed to wear this week. 

 

On Monday, there is an away basketball game at Beulah Middle

 

On Tuesday, there is a rescheduled basketball game at Workman Middle

 

On Tuesday, the art club will be meeting at 8:00 a.m.

 

On Tuesday, our all-county chorus will be performing at the Saenger Theater at 7:00 p.m.

 

The SLT Teacher Turkey Feather committee will be meeting at 8:45 a.m.

 

On Wednesday, October 24th, sixth grade students will be receiving their health screening from the nurse.  

 

On Thursday, the drama club will be meeting at 8:30 a.m. in the cafeteria.

 

There is an away basketball game at Bellview middle.

 

Also on Thursday, the all-county orchestra will be performing at the Saenger Theater at 7:00 p.m.
