Kicks for a Cause Shoe Drive Runs to the Finish Line! 366 Pairs Strong!

UPDATE:  Our Bengal Book Club and library assistants collected and sorted a grand total of 366 pairs of shoes for Healing Paws for Warriors, Inc. in conjunction with Random Acts of Kindness Week!   We even had some Tigers stop in the library when they had an extra moment and lend helping hands in the process.  Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of those in our community, we changed our original goal of 100 to 250 pairs, extended our drive until Feb. 19th and ended up surpassing our new goal of 250 pairs.  A big "thank you" to all those folks who searched their closets and brought in donations and for our local media outlets for getting the word out! I delivered the shoes to Healing Paws on a sunny Saturday morning; they were so grateful for our support and send their appreciation to all who helped make this project a success. Together, we made a difference;Ransom rocks!

Mission Statement:  The mission of the Ransom School Innovation Center is to bring together all students and staff in encouraging a lifelong passion for reading, building information literacy skills and sparking creativity, curiosity and a critical thinking, growth mindset.

Back By Popular Demand--Innovation Center Makerspaces!

Our Innovation Center is much more than books and computers. We are excited to continue offering a wide array of immensely popular makerspaces to our Tiger patrons during the 2019-20 school year.

Makerspaces are places for students to create, experiment, build, and craft.  At Ransom, these dynamic areas change and grow throughout the year, offering spaces in a wide range of subject areas and student-driven interests.  This year, our spaces will feature everything from circuitry sets and app-controlled robotic devices to magnetic poetry, structure-building and origami! We are also introducing a rotating "What is it Wednesday" feature in which students can get "hands-on" with some of our more technical makerspaces, such as Makey Makey, Ozobots and Sphero Ball.
