    Dr. Lipnick's Call Out

Welcome to Ransom Middle School where we don’t meet the day, WE create it.

    March 4, 2019

I would like to congratulate our boys swim team for placing first in the district divisional meet on Friday night.  Also, congratulations to our girl’s swim team for placing second in the meet.

Congratulations to our girl’s volleyball team for winning both of their games last week.

Our Ransom academic team continues to shine at their competitions.  We were the only middle school competing against high schools teams at the Florida Panhandle History Bee and Bowl at Tate High School.  Congratulations to Jake Bures and Asher Nissim for placing third and fourth in the History Bee and to our Ransom B team for making it to the Junior Varsity Championships.

A special congratulations to our students of the month Nia Nelson & Tin Tran.

    cHANGES AT rms lIBRARY

Below please find some important dates and news re: the innovation center for the remainder of the year:

Research After Spring Break:  When we return from Spring Break, the only day all students will be allowed to come to the library during research is Wednesday. As such, please do not send students to the library during research on other days; we will have to send them right back to class. Because Wednesday research will be extra busy now, we are asking for your help in making the new policy smoother, please. First, routinely only send 3 students (not 4 unless esp. needed for a project etc.) at a time on passes. Quicker visits by small groups will allow more students from your class to visit during research, and three at a time will allow the most classes to send students to use the library at any one time. (Note: We have a max capacity/occupancy rating in the library of 82. So, if just 20 teachers send 4 at once, we are already at our limit and will have to turn away subsequent visitors.)

Lamination: We will no longer be doing lamination on Wednesdays, so any jobs sent on that day will be done on Thursday.

Book Club: Besides our remaining two parties for Book Club 8th period, (03/26 & 04/23), we will no longer hold Bengal Book Club meetings. I will be announcing this development to the members at the party and on school announcements, but if you also have members in your research, please let them know as well. However, some members are still trying to reach their reading goals for the parties. If possible, please send any students needing to test during advisory.

Year End Dates: The last day to turn in any checked out materials for this year will be Friday, May 3rd. The library will be closed to all patrons, makerspaces and check outs beginning May the 6th-17th to perform year-end inventory.
